Welcome to Roccolino

An ancient cabin in the woods.

In a beech and hornbeam wood there is the Roccolino, an ancient building from the late 19th century once used for hunting, which is a very common practice in this area.

Today it’s a little renewed house that still preserves its original architecture: the terracotta floor, the old kitchen sink, dated 1538, and the walls. The space organization reminds the one of a haunting lodge and the room where there was the fowler, the one with the old sink, is now a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, a hob and all the essentials.

On the ground floor you will also find a little living room with a thermo fireplace fueled by wood, useful in the cold season, when the temperature drops significantly.

You can reach the first floor via a little wood staircase. Here you will find a cozy room with a double bed and a bunk bed. A wide window will let you admire the environment surrounding you, a small clearing of old beeches, hollies, and wild cherry trees.

In the apartment you will find blankets, bed linen, towels, and a small hairdryer.
In the kitchen there are dishes, cookware, cutlery, and a coffee machine (coffee, oil, sugar, salt, and vinegar are included too).
In addition, upon your arrival you will find one of our preserves as a welcoming gift. Just outside the house there are a barbecue and a pic-nic table for the exclusive use of the guests.

Not far from the Roccolino there is a map of the area, some hiking routes, and a trail that leads to Mount Guglielmo and Pontogna, which is a great destination for a walk and for the weekends out of town.

The Roccolino stands in a prime location that allows to have a view of the whole high-Valtrompia, as well as giving you an opportunity to unwind and enjoy an experience of rural hospitality, silence, and walks in the greenery.

You can book by directly calling the farm and talking with the owners. The booking will be considered valid after the payment of the deposit.

We are happy to accommodate your 4-legged friends too, with the only clause that they remain on the ground floor and don’t sleep in the bed with the owners.

Very close to the “House in the woods” there is our Farm, which in the weekends is open at lunch for the restaurant service. If you prefer a more reserved staying, we suggest coming already with all the food you need, since the closest store to buy food is in Magno, 20 minutes away by car, while the closest supermarket is in the valley.
